PMP is the certification of Project Management Professionals. It is initiated by the Project Management Institute (PMI), which is a certification exam that strictly evaluates whether the knowledge and skills of project management personnel have is highly qualified.

At present, more than 190 countries and regions in the world have set up Certification and Examination Institutions. It is the most valuable certification in the field of Project Management. Getting PMP Certification not only improves the Project Management Level of the project managers, but also directly reflects the personal competitiveness of the Project Management, which is the symbol of the identity of the project managers.

Project Management (PM) is the project manager, under the constraint of limited resources, using systematic views, methods and theories to effectively manage all the work involved in the project. That is to plan, organize, direct, coordinate, control and evaluate the whole process from the beginning of investment decision to the end of the project, so as to achieve the goal of the project. “Modern management, project is everything, everyone is a project manager”

Condition 1:

Candidates must have more than 35 hours of PMP Certification training experience covering nine knowledge areas in the Project Management Knowledge System.

Condition 2:

Bachelor degree or above

Applicants are required to have at least 4500 hours of Project Management experience within six years before the date of application, including five Project Management Process Groups (Start-up Process, Planning Process, Implementation Process, Control Process and Closing Process), and the cumulative number of months involved in project management is at least 36 months.

Without bachelor’s degree or below

Applicants are required to have at least 7500 hours of Project Management experience within eight years before the date of application, including five Project Management Process Groups (Start-up Process, Planning Process, Implementation Process, Control Process and Closing Process), and the cumulative number of months involved in project management is at least 60 months.

Note: when accumulating project management months, the overlapping months of each project cannot be calculated repeatedly.

First time: the PMP exam cost is USD 595 / time.

Make-up exam: the cost is USD 381. After three make-up examinations, it is still USD 595 / time.

Generally, the PMP Exam is conducted four times a year (on a Saturday in March, June, September and December).

Note:

1. In 2020, due to special reasons of the epidemic situation, the PMP Certification Examination on March 15^th will be temporarily postponed to June 6^th, and no new application will be accepted in June.
2. The specific examination date shall be subject to the notice on the official website of the Foreign Affairs Bureau.
3. You can follow “one hour a day, two months through PMP” time to time to update the latest developments of PMP Examination.

The textbook of PMP is changed every four years, and the sixth edition is currently used.

(Note: the plan for 2020 is to change the textbooks in September. Due to special circumstances, it is tentatively postponed to March, 2021 to use the new textbooks.)

The PMP Examination needs to register twice (in English and Chinese) so as to take the formal examination.

English – Log in to http://PMI.ORG. After registration, fill in personal information, project experience, 35-class-hour training certification (need to be issued by the training institutions) and some other information.

1. English registration information is in English.
2. English registration is valid for one year.

Chinese—— Log in to http://exam.chinapmp.cn/. Register, fill in the education background, graduate school, and career. The Website will display test name, the deadline of the test appointment and others relating to the test time. For Chinese registration, you can make an appointment for the examination room and then pay for it (as shown in the figure below).

Admission Card: the admission card is usually printed on the official website of CFA one week before the examination, and the printing time is generally about 4 days.

Test Results: PMP test results are generally published within 4-6 weeks after the test, through the PMI official website can query the results, PMI will also email you.

PMP test does not show scores. As shown in the figure above, the results of each part are divided into four kinds, which are Needs Improvement, Below Target, Target, and Above Target. The final total test results are pass and fail. 5A is the best.

Test results: PMP Paper Certification will be issued within 8-12 weeks after the test.
